In this role, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces through abrasive blasting techniques to ensure optimal finishing quality on a variety of materials and projects. Your expertise will help us achieve smooth, durable, and high-quality finishes that meet our rigorous standards. Responsibilities Operate sandblasting equipment safely and efficiently to clean, prepare, or etch surfaces on metal, concrete, or other materials Select appropriate abrasive media based on project specifications and surface requirements Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to ensure quality standards are met Maintain and troubleshoot sandblasting machinery to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators, gloves, and protective clothing Prepare work areas by setting up barriers and containment measures to prevent dust and debris spread Document work progress, equipment maintenance, and safety checks accurately in logs Qualifications Proven experience operating sandblasting or abrasive blasting equipment in industrial or construction settings Knowledge of different abrasive media types and their appropriate applications Strong understanding of safety procedures related to dust control, respiratory protection, and equipment handling Ability to read and interpret technical instructions and project specifications Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy materials, and perform repetitive tasks with precision Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards Preferred qualifications include familiarity with surface preparation standards, OSHA safety certifications related to abrasive blasting, and experience working with various substrates.
