TOOLING TECHNICIAN

Vista, CA Schedule:
Tuesday-Friday, 6:00 AM-4:30 PM Manufacturer is seeking a hands-on Tooling Technician to join our Vista Tooling team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building, fabricating, repairing, and working with their hands . You will work in a composite shop environment creating and maintaining molds, fixtures, patterns, and tooling used in manufacturing. The ideal candidate has experience with tooling, composites, fiberglass, hand tools, and working from drawings . Candidates from automotive, boat, or jet ski body shops may have highly transferable experience.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Build, fabricate, modify, repair, and maintain molds, fixtures, patterns, and tooling. Work with composite materials, fiberglass, epoxy, resin, and vinyl . Use hand tools and shop equipment to fabricate and finish tooling components. Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions. Build tooling to required dimensions, angles, and specifications.3D visuals Perform bodywork, shaping, sanding, and other hands-on fabrication tasks. Troubleshoot tooling issues and make necessary repairs or modifications. Support continuous improvement and day-to-day problem solving. Maintain high standards for quality, safety, and housekeeping. Follow all PPE and workplace safety requirements. Work collaboratively with experienced tooling professionals and support team members as needed.
WHAT YOU BRING
High school diploma or GED. Must clear background Hands-on experience in tooling, fabrication, manufacturing, composites, bodywork, or similar environments . Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools. Ability to read and work from drawings and technical instructions. Ability to visualize and work with three-dimensional shapes and structures. Understanding of measurements, dimensional tolerances, layout, squareness, and angles. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Willingness to learn new tooling and fabrication techniques. Ability to obtain forklift certification.

PPE & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be comfortable working in a composite shop environment. Must wear required PPE, including gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and respirator protection when working with resin and other materials. Must successfully pass respirator certification . Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs. Must be comfortable standing, bending, reaching, and performing hands-on work for extended periods. Must be able to work safely around composite materials, resin, epoxy, and related chemicals.
