General Sales Manager Lead a High-Performing Sales Team and Drive Dealership Success A growing automotive group is seeking an experienced and results-driven General Sales Manager (GSM) to lead variable operations and drive exceptional customer experiences. This is an outstanding opportunity for a proven automotive leader who excels at developing talent, increasing profitability, improving processes, and fostering a culture of accountability and success. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of both new and pre-owned vehicle operations, inventory management, desking, marketing, customer retention, and team development. What We Offer Competitive compensation package with performance incentives Strong executive support and resources Career advancement opportunities within a growing organization Positive, team-oriented culture Opportunity to make a significant impact on dealership performance Professional development and leadership growth opportunities Key Responsibilities Lead all variable operations, including new and pre-owned vehicle sales Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and develop Sales Managers and sales personnel Foster a culture of accountability, professional development, and continuous improvement Establish sales objectives and implement strategies to achieve and exceed revenue goals Manage vehicle inventory to maximize turn rates, profitability, and market competitiveness Monitor key performance indicators including volume, gross profit, CSI, lead conversion, and retention metrics Drive customer satisfaction initiatives and champion a customer-first culture throughout the dealership Collaborate with fixed operations, finance, and executive leadership to achieve dealership objectives Develop and execute effective advertising, digital marketing, and sales promotion strategies Analyze market trends and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities Ensure compliance with all company policies, legal regulations, and ethical business practices Maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, lenders, vendors, employees, and customers Qualifications Previous experience as a General Sales Manager, Sales Manager, or other senior automotive leadership role Demonstrated history of achieving and exceeding sales and profitability objectives Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities Proven success developing high-performing sales teams Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Strong understanding of inventory management, variable operations, and dealership financials Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional experiences High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening Who Succeeds in This Role The most successful candidates are servant leaders who lead by example, develop talent, embrace accountability, and create a culture where employees can thrive.
