Our client operates a fast-paced warehouse and distribution facility where employees frequently work around tobacco products. They are seeking an experienced and dependable Forklift Operator to safely move materials, manage inventory, and support shipping and receiving operations. This position requires recent forklift experience, strong attention to safety, and the ability to work in a dirty warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate forklifts and material-handling equipment, including reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, lift trucks, and pallet jacks. Load, unload, transport, and store materials throughout the warehouse. Pick, stage, and prepare products for customer orders and outgoing shipments. Stack pallets and organize materials according to established safety procedures. Use warehouse management systems, barcode scanners, and RF scanning equipment to accurately document inventory movements. Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy, condition, and proper documentation. Assist with inventory counts, product-location verification, and inventory-control activities. Complete required pre-shift equipment inspections and report mechanical or safety concerns immediately. Follow OSHA requirements, forklift safety procedures, and all established warehouse policies. Maintain a clean and organized work area within a dirty, fast-paced warehouse environment. Work safely and professionally around tobacco products and related materials. Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet shipping, receiving, and production goals. Work extended shifts, long hours, weekends, and required overtime based on business needs.
What You'll Bring:
3-4 Years of recent forklift-operating experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, or distribution environment is required. Recent hands-on experience operating reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, lift trucks, or comparable powered industrial equipment. Experience with shipping, receiving, order picking, inventory movement, and material handling. Familiarity with WMS platforms, barcode scanners, and RF scanning equipment. Strong understanding of forklift safety procedures and warehouse safety requirements. Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and shipping documentation. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, and climb on and off equipment throughout the shift. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull warehouse materials as required. Ability to work in a dirty environment with frequent exposure to tobacco products. Dependable attendance and the flexibility to work long hours and required overtime. Pay:
