Job Description Find your calling at Mercy! The Senior Development Officer works closely with the Regional Executive Director to design and execute a comprehensive development strategy for major and planned gift prospects for the regional Mercy Health Foundations. This position solicits for hospital programs capital campaign gifts and ongoing fundraising efforts. This individual will work with Mercy physicians as part of the grateful patient program. This position performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree.
Experience:
Minimum three to five years of successful principal and major gifts experience.
Preferred Experience:
Demonstrate experience in effectively working with all levels of leadership and staff. Demonstrate success in soliciting major gifts (gifts of $10,000+). Experience securing philanthropic support for ahospital or health system
Preferred Certification/Registration:
CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive).
Skills and Knowledge:
Demonstrable knowledge of the principals and best practices associated with major gift fundraising Possesses strong analytical skills Strategic approach to problem-solving Personable presence, demeanor and the desire to work face-to-face with the external community, including volunteers and donor prospects Outstanding commitment to customer service Willingness and ability to learn and utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Raiser's Edge Strong attention to detail, with an outstanding ability to multi-task Initiates and has the ability to work independently.
