Job Description

TITLE:
Executive Director
REPORTS TO
Board of Directors
SUPERVISES
Staff working in the Detox Center, Administrative Support Staff
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall management and administration of the organization and personnel who work within the agency.
Primary responsibilities include:
BOARD RELATIONSHIPS
1. Provides verbal or written updates regarding any significant changes at monthly Board meetings 2. Keeps Board advised of major staff changes 3. Carries out directives by the Board 4. Obtains prior approval of the President or Board for purchases over $1,000.00
BUDGET:
1. Works with Board of Directors in preparation of the annual budget 2. Maintains expenses within budget limits whenever possible 3. Obtains quotes on all purchases over $500 whenever possible
PLANNING
1. Develops annual goals to be presented in July of each year to the Board of Directors 2. Monitors progress towards completion of goals with periodic reports to the Board of Directors
LICENSING
1. Provides copies of all state inspections to the Board in a timely manner 2. Cooperates with requirements following all inspections and reports to Board on actions taken (i.e. new polices, training mandates, etc.) 3. Maintains agency standards as required by the Department of Human Services, Department of Health, etc.
MANAGEMENT
1. Hire, supervise, discipline and conduct performance evaluations on all staff as required per policy 2. Conduct staff meetings as deemed necessary 3. Assure staff obtain and maintain necessary training per agency/state policies 4. Interpret policy and procedure for employees 5. Monitor staff turnover and report concerns, suggest changes where necessary 6. Conduct staff appeals per policy 7. Develop, recommend and implement Board policies, procedures and directives 8. Notify Board Chairperson of any major incident(s) within 24 hours 9. Maintains positive working relationships with service providers 10. Represents agency at conferences to promote facility 11. Maintains documents/files/etc. per State requirements 12. Approve time sheets, sick, vacation, leave and expense reports for all staff 13. Address staff, resident and patient appeals 14. Provide backup for payroll processing
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's Degree in the Human Service field or three years' experience in working with individuals with chemical abuse issues. 2. Master's Degree in the Human Service field preferred. 3. LADC, LCSW, or RN licensure preferred 4. Three years' experience in administration 5. Must know and understand the implications of MN Rule 32, Sections 626.557, 626.5572 and Chapters 245A, 245F and 260E 6. Must be able to document two years of freedom from chemical abuse problems 7. Ability to work autonomously and make critical decisions in a short time period 8. Ability to make decisions, set priorities and schedule/use time effectively 9. Above average human relations skills sufficient to represent the agency; maintain effective working relationships and work with a diverse and sometimes adversarial/resistive offender population 10. Excellent oral and written skills sufficient to work with a Board of Directors 11. Must be able to pass a Mantoux test and/or chest x-ray 12. Must be willing to take on call weekends on a regular basis •Placement above this range may be considered depending on the selected candidate's experience, credentials, and overall qualifications.
Pay:
$72,783.00 - $93,336.00 per year
