As an Assistant Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving store success by overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and delivering exceptional customer service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a vibrant team, implement strategic initiatives, and ensure the smooth functioning of our retail environment. Responsibilities Working closely with the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to company policies. Lead and motivate a diverse team through effective training, coaching, and performance management to foster a high-performing work environment. Manage employee orientation programs, conduct interviews, and participate in recruiting efforts to build a talented team aligned with company standards. Handle payroll processing, bookkeeping, inventory management, and POS (Point of Sale) system operations to maintain accurate records and financial transactions. Supervise retail sales activities, including merchandising, stocking, pricing strategies, and sales management to maximize revenue opportunities. Oversee inventory control procedures to prevent loss and ensure product availability; coordinate purchasing and stock replenishment efforts. Maintain excellent customer service standards by addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Oversee shift management responsibilities such as cash handling, cashiering, and store opening/closing procedures. Implement marketing initiatives and promotional activities to boost store visibility and sales performance. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while fostering a safe environment for staff and customers. Utilize strong communication skills to coordinate with team members across departments and facilitate effective organizational workflows. Experience Proven assistant manager or supervisory experience within retail or grocery store settings. Demonstrated expertise in retail math, sales management, pricing strategies, and merchandising techniques. Strong leadership skills with experience in team management, training & development, and employee supervision. Proficiency in inventory management systems, POS technology, cash handling procedures, and bookkeeping practices. Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual capabilities are highly desirable for engaging diverse customer bases. Experience with recruiting processes including interviewing candidates and onboarding new employees. Knowledge of payroll administration, budgeting, marketing strategies, wireless sales (preferred), and store operational procedures. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently through excellent time management and organizational skills.
