Under the general supervision of Production and Engineering, this position is responsible for retrieving the necessary paperwork, materials, and supplies required to run production jobs; maintaining physical inventory of materials; performing line clearances; and balancing and closing jobs in accordance with established procedures. This role has overall responsibility for ensuring that physical material inventory on the production floor and in the warehouse accurately matches inventory records maintained in the ERP system. In addition, this position is responsible for receiving and shipping goods, as well as maintaining inventories of raw materials and finished goods at levels prescribed by Production Control schedules.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded as management determines necessary. Check in received goods according to purchase orders and packing slips to confirm identification, type, part number, amount and general quality. Unload trucks as required. Visually inspect goods received for damage and process damage reports if required. Coordinate with Quality Assurance Department as required. Transfer goods to inventory and maintain necessary inventory records and reports as required, utilizing computer for all transactions. - Notify purchasing of shortages. Monitor levels of inventory of finished goods and raw materials as required by Production & Inventory Control. Maintain orderly warehouse and storage areas. Coordinate purchase and deliveries of materials to minimize on hand quantities without interruption of scheduled production or deliveries to customers. Materials to include packaging, plastic resins, additives, inserts, rubbers, solvents, hydraulic oils, cleaning media, gases, and other supplies required to sustain manufacturing. Responsible for handling of hazardous wastes as prescribed by Lab. Requires operating forklift trucks and company vehicles as necessary. Check products to be shipped against shipping orders to ensure proper amounts, identification - including revision level, and correct materials. Monitor the packing process to ensure travel quality of goods. Determine the method of transportation and contact truck carriers to make pickups. Work from shipping orders, shipping instructions, regulations, and D.O.P. Provide customer assistance to trace missing shipments, etc. Maintain required department records, logs, and reports. Perform necessary inventory transactions in the ERP system when material is received. Move materials to locations throughout the plant and complete the proper transactions. When inventory physically moves, some type of transaction must be made. Weigh and prepare materials for new jobs and return inventory on finished jobs. Maintain physical inventory of materials, supplies, packaging, and inserts. Make necessary labels. Close out job orders. Perform line clearance on finished jobs. Weigh parts. Clean and prepare material dryers. Perform other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS
