Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic supply chain and warehouse management team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing inventory accuracy, optimizing stock levels, and ensuring seamless coordination across procurement, logistics, and warehouse operations. Responsibilities Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels across multiple warehouse locations using advanced warehouse management software and ERP systems such as AS400 or similar platforms. Conduct regular stock audits, data collection, and root cause analysis to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with procurement and sourcing teams to optimize purchasing strategies, negotiate supplier contracts, and manage logistics inventory management. Utilize data mining, data visualization tools like Power BI, and analytics techniques to analyze inventory trends, demand planning, and supply chain performance. Support process improvement initiatives by analyzing current workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and recommending solutions for enhanced operational efficiency. Oversee materials handling activities including shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, and heavy lifting requirements in compliance with safety standards. Manage inventory control processes within warehouse operations to ensure accurate stocking, materials management, and timely replenishment. Facilitate cross-functional communication among merchandising, retail management, and logistics teams to align inventory strategies with business objectives. Maintain detailed records of inventory transactions, pricing adjustments, and financial analysis related to stock levels. Assist in managing 3PL (third-party logistics) providers to ensure seamless coordination of inbound/outbound shipments. Requirements Proven experience in warehouse distribution, warehouse management, or supply chain analytics with a focus on inventory control. Strong technical proficiency with ERP systems such as AS400 or similar inventory management software; advanced Excel data analysis skills are essential. Familiarity with demand planning tools like Nielsen or equivalent market data sources. Demonstrated ability in negotiation, supplier management experience, and contract oversight within logistics or procurement functions. Knowledge of materials handling procedures including shipping & receiving processes and heavy lifting safety protocols. Analytical mindset with expertise in root cause analysis, process improvement methodologies, and financial modeling related to inventory management. Excellent communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration across diverse teams. Ability to perform math-based analysis involving pricing strategies, financial analysis, and supply chain metrics. Physical capability for heavy lifting tasks when required; familiarity with warehouse operations is preferred.
