Job Description

Masis Staffing Solutions is seeking a Lead Inventory Control Specialist to support inventory accuracy, inventory-control processes, and material traceability across warehouse and storage locations. This is a Direct Hire , on-site role in Littleton, MA . Position Summary The Lead Inventory Control Specialist is a senior individual contributor responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy and maintaining strong inventory-control practices across the warehouse and related storage areas. This person serves as the primary subject-matter expert for inventory transactions, cycle counting, physical inventory, discrepancy investigation, and inventory process improvement. As the daily extension of the Warehouse Manager for inventory-control matters, this role establishes standards for inventory accuracy, supports audit readiness, and coaches warehouse personnel on proper inventory-control practices. The position combines hands-on warehouse execution with analytical review, cross-functional coordination, and continuous improvement. This role provides technical leadership and functional direction but does not have direct people-management responsibility. Essential Functions / Responsibilities Own and lead daily inventory-control activities including cycle counts, physical inventories, transaction review, discrepancy investigation, and reconciliation. Maintain a high level of inventory accuracy across factory, warehouse, offsite, and other designated storage locations. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies involving quantities, locations, lot/serial numbers, work orders, sales orders, purchase orders, returns, and ERP transactions. Perform and review advanced ERP inventory transactions to ensure receiving, put-away, picking, transfers, adjustments, and consumption are recorded accurately and timely. Develop, maintain, and improve cycle-count processes, count schedules, inventory-control procedures, and related documentation. Analyze inventory trends and recurring discrepancies; identify root causes and implement corrective/preventive actions with cross-functional teams (Warehouse, Logistics, Quality, Supply Chain, Production, Finance, Engineering). Serve as the primary escalation point for inventory-control questions, transaction errors, material-location issues, and count variances. Support inventory-related audits, compliance reviews, and internal controls by maintaining accurate records and audit readiness. Monitor inventory-control performance metrics and communicate key findings, risks, and improvement opportunities to warehouse leadership. Coordinate/support annual or periodic physical inventory activities (planning, execution, reconciliation, follow-up). Ensure materials are properly identified, labeled, stored, and traceable per procedures and applicable quality requirements. Support nonconformance, return material authorization (RMA), return-to-vendor (RTV), and disposition processes as they relate to inventory accuracy and material control. Partner with Warehouse/Logistics to ensure accurate staging, shipping, receiving, and material movement. Train, mentor, and guide warehouse team members on inventory-control standards, ERP transactions, and proper material-handling practices. Participate in lean/process-improvement/standard-work initiatives to improve accuracy, efficiency, safety, and warehouse performance. Perform hands-on warehouse work as needed (receiving, put-away, picking, staging, material movement, cycle counts). Perform other duties as needed to support Masis Staffing goals. Education, Training & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required BA listed as required/preferred (degree requirement shown as "BA" on the job record) 12+ years of progressive experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, materials management, or logistics (regulated manufacturing environment preferred) Demonstrated expertise in inventory accuracy, cycle counting, physical inventory, reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution Advanced proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Experience with lot-controlled/serialized/high-value/sensitive/non-standard materials preferred Experience supporting audits, inventory controls, compliance requirements, and documentation standards preferred Experience with NCR, RMA, RTV, and material disposition processes preferred Strong organization, communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and provide technical leadership without direct supervisory authority Lean/continuous improvement experience preferred Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) certification (forklifts, scissor jacks, Crown Wave order pickers) or ability to obtain/maintain certification Physical & Environmental Requirements Ability to sit and stand for extended periods Use of standard office equipment (laptop, phone, copier, related systems) Use of mobile scanning equipment (handheld/wearable barcode scanners) Ability to safely navigate warehouses, factories, and storage environments May be involved in rigging operations and heavy-equipment handling Ability to lift 25 lb. boxes to a height of 3-4 feet Ability to push/pull heavy pallets using a hand truck or approved equipment #MFT1 Masis Staffing is committed to providing a workplace free of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
