In this role, you will be the vital link ensuring seamless coordination between transportation providers, internal teams, and customers. Your expertise in logistics, transportation planning, and fleet management will drive efficiency, optimize freight movement, and uphold compliance with DOT regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced supply chain environment where proactive communication and organizational excellence are key to success. Duties Coordinate LTL shipments and trucking schedules using transportation management systems. Manage dispatching activities by assigning freight loads to carriers, monitoring delivery progress via GPS and GIS tools, and adjusting plans as needed for timely delivery. Maintain clear internal communication with warehouse teams, drivers, customer service representatives, and external partners through multi-line phone systems and internal messaging platforms. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations by verifying driver documentation, tracking hours of service, and conducting safety checks. Enter data accurately into logistics databases, including shipping details, tracking information, and freight documentation to support efficient supply chain operations. Handle customer inquiries via phone calls with professionalism and courtesy, providing real-time updates on shipments and resolving issues promptly. Support shipping & receiving processes by coordinating freight pickups/deliveries, managing fleet management systems, and overseeing 3PL (third-party logistics) providers for optimal freight flow. Requirements Proven experience in road transportation operations, logistics coordination, or supply chain management. Experience with team drivers a plus. A strong working knowledge of HOS is a must. Strong knowledge of transportation planning tools such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS tracking systems, and transportation management software like Oracle Transportation Management or Vehicle Dispatch Software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for data entry, reporting, and communication tasks. Familiarity with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations governing freight transport safety standards. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills for phone call management, internal collaboration, and customer service interactions. Ability to analyze transportation data to identify efficiencies or issues using analysis skills. Experience with shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management systems, and vehicle dispatching processes. Strong typing skills along with experience using logistics platforms such as SyteLine or AS400 for operational support. Schedule The hours for this position will be Monday-Friday 0700-1700 on normal days. However, this is trucking and sometimes our days are not as normal as we plan on them being. There will be times when some after hours and weekend work will be required. This does not happen very often.
