At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing material planning, customs and freight forwarding, or transportation management. Experience using an ERP system to create purchase orders, coordinate with suppliers, and manage inventory. Knowledge of import/export documentation, customs clearance, or regulatory compliance. Experience coordinating carriers and inbound or outbound transportation. Automotive or industrial manufacturing experience preferred. Knowledge of FCA/EXW Incoterms and JIT/JIS delivery processes preferred. Familiarity with U.S. customs regulations and import documentation preferred. About the Material Planner and Customs Specialist Role Crown Staffing is seeking a Material Planner and Customs Specialist for a direct-hire opportunity in Hollyvilla, KY. This position coordinates the end-to-end process from material planning through inbound logistics, customs clearance, and final delivery. Analyze demand forecasts and create purchase orders using an ERP system. Coordinate with suppliers and manage lead times to support JIT/JIS production schedules. Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply updates to production and procurement teams. Schedule inbound pickups from global suppliers under FCA and EXW terms. Track shipments and proactively resolve pickup or delivery delays. Work with freight forwarders and customs brokers to prepare and review import/export documentation. Monitor customs-clearance activity, including holds, inspections, and documentation issues. Arrange transportation throughout the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Coordinate milk-run pickups and final delivery to the manufacturing facility. Address freight damage claims and shipment discrepancies. Cross-train with team members to provide operational coverage when needed. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in material planning, customs and freight forwarding, or transportation management. Experience across multiple supply-chain functions is a strong advantage.
