Description:
Ascentec Engineering is hiring an Aerospace Operations Manager for our Dallas, Oregon facility. The Aerospace Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations within the aerospace manufacturing facility, ensuring production efficiency, quality assurance, compliance with industry regulations, and continuous process improvement. This role plays a critical part in aligning operational activities with strategic business objectives, optimizing resource utilization, and maintaining customer satisfaction in a high-precision, deadline-driven environment. This position is onsite (not remote/not hybrid) and not eligible for Visa sponsorship or transfer of Visa sponsorship.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage production teams to meet daily manufacturing goals, quality standards, and delivery timelines. Coordinate cross-functional departments including production, quality assurance, supply chain, and engineering to ensure seamless operations. Develop and implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste. Monitor production KPIs and generate regular reports to evaluate performance and drive accountability. Ensure compliance with
AS9100, ISO
9001, and other applicable aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements. Oversee capacity planning, resource allocation, and equipment maintenance schedules. Partner with HR and leadership to recruit, train, and develop staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance. Manage departmental budgets and contribute to cost control and profitability initiatives. Act as the primary operations point of contact for customer audits, internal reviews, and supplier performance assessments. Promote a safe work environment by enforcing health and safety policies and leading incident investigations when necessary.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or related field (required). 7+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role. Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and other aerospace industry standards.
Skills & Competencies:
Proven leadership and team-building abilities in a high-paced production setting. Advanced knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret data and drive performance. Effective communicator with the ability to lead change and influence at all levels of the organization. Proficiency in ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or Master's degree in Engineering or Operations Management. Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification. Experience with defense or space program compliance.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing floor and office environment. May require occasional travel to suppliers, customers, or other company facilities.
Compensation/Benefits:
$100,000 to $125,000 per year DOE Paid time off / Holiday pay Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance Short- and long-term disability coverage 401(k) with matching funds Profit sharing eligibility Educational aid program availability Applicant must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check prior to employment.
