Role:
This role is responsible for evolving procurement into a data-driven, systems-enabled function by leading process design, ERP optimization, and advanced analytics. The position oversees Procurement Coordinators and focuses on building scalable operations supported by data-driven decision-making and streamlined workflows. In addition to managing team performance, this role emphasizes leveraging data insights to improve purchasing efficiency, including order batching, vendor performance optimization, and cost-to-serve enhancements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead Procurement Coordinators through structured workflows, SLAs, and KPI-driven performance management Establish and track key operational metrics such as PO cycle time, accuracy, fill rate support, and ETA reliability Drive consistency and accountability through standardized processes and performance tracking Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development through regular 1:1s, goal setting, and career planning Manage team performance with clear expectations and accountability frameworks Identify skill gaps and implement training initiatives to strengthen team capabilities Foster team autonomy by reducing reliance on manager-led decision-making Advanced Procurement Analytics & Process Optimization Develop and implement data-driven purchasing strategies, including PO batching, order consolidation, and frequency optimization Analyze vendor performance, lead times, and service levels to improve procurement outcomes Build models to balance inventory levels, service levels, and working capital Partner with Sr. Buyers to align purchasing with demand and inventory strategies Translate complex data into actionable insights that drive cost savings, efficiency, and service improvements ERP Systems & Process Optimization Own procurement systems (ERP, Asana, reporting tools) and drive continuous improvement Lead ERP enhancements and support system implementations (e.g., Just Foods) Design automated workflows to reduce manual effort and improve data accuracy Ensure procurement processes are scalable, standardized, and system-driven Cross-Functional Enablement Collaborate with Sr. Buyers, Account Management, Logistics, and FSQA to align procurement strategies Support business initiatives through data insights and process improvements Lead change management efforts for new tools, workflows, and optimization strategies General Responsibilities & Compliance Perform additional duties as assigned Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations Promote a collaborative, professional environment aligned with company values of humility, collaboration, and innovation
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field 5+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or operations with a strong analytical focus 3+ years of leadership experience managing teams of at least 4 employees, including coaching and performance management Advanced proficiency in Excel Experience analyzing operational data and driving process improvements Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools Experience working with ERP systems
Preferred:
Experience with cost modeling, inventory optimization, or logistics decision-making Experience supporting ERP implementations and change management initiatives
