Responsibilities:
Assist the Program Director, Committee and Board in developing an overall fundraising strategy. Lead the Development Committee and Board in implementing the fundraising strategy. Work cooperatively with Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc., following established fundraising policies and processes. Work with staff and volunteers to ensure that all are engaged in and supporting fundraising activities. Create and monitor the department expense budget and income goals. Prepare monthly reports to the program director, development committee and board. Direct staff to ensure that all gifts are properly recorded, deposited and acknowledged in a timely fashion. Develop and supervise the production of all program publications and external communications including press releases, brochures and newsletters. Maintain contact with program staff regarding fundraising activities, results, and ways staff can contribute to the success of the development effort. Meet regularly with program staff to remain up to date on all program activities, especially those for which funds are needed. Develop and implement strategies for identifying, cultivating and recognizing individual donors. Provide support to the solicitation efforts of board members and train board members and volunteers to be solicitors. Develop, implement, refine and promote regularly scheduled campus tours and Open House events. Ensure that appropriate follow‐up activities are conducted, including solicitations. Write appeal letters and solicitation materials. Manage the process for producing targeted appeals and other development publications. Develop and implement strategies for cultivating and securing corporate and foundation relationships. Develop relationships with existing and potential government funding agencies. Identify, research, and evaluate potential corporate, foundation, and government prospects for solicitation. Supervise the timely submission of proposals, budgets, updates, and end‐of‐year and other required reports to corporate, foundation and government funders.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Administration, Fund Development, Communication, or a closely related field required. A minimum of five to seven years of related work experience are required.
