Job Description

ESI is seeking a driven and experienced Program Manager to lead programs, establish and maintain rapport with clients, and support sales proposals. This role will be responsible for overall program management of assigned contracts and is accountable for program execution, financial performance, and customer satisfaction. This person will play a key role in our organization with great upward potential and will work directly under the Director of Program Management and in collaboration with other company departments. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or other related discipline from an accredited university. The individual must have 7+ years of actual program management experience in an aerospace or defense environment. Candidate should be able to demonstrate recent experience in:
  • Aerospace or defense industry
  • Ability to understand technical products with strong business acumen
  • Coordinating multiple programs and driving programs to on-time delivery
  • Managing budgets for cost plus and firm fixed price contracts
  • Developing WBS and schedules in MS Project
  • Managing change requests and negotiating new contracts
  • Quoting activities and developing response to RFIs/RFPs Candidate should be able to demonstrate knowledge in:
  • Project Management Methodologies (PMBOK); PMM certification is a plus
  • Engineering and manufacturing processes for electromechanical components
  • Leveraging experience to make appropriate program decisions and exercise proper judgment while working with team members and addressing program opportunities
  • Establishing team scope, organizational and communication structures
  • Communicating with vendors, clients, sponsors, and project stakeholders in a tactful manner
  • Coordinating and prioritizing internal resources to ensure timely delivery
  • Developing presentations for and facilitating design reviews including PDR and CDR
  • Anticipating clients' needs and proposing appropriate solutions
  • Negotiating and coordinating program change orders
  • Creating action and risk logs and driving actions to completion
  • Lending expertise to internal team by employing excellent listening and organizational skills
  • Ensuring all program requirements outlined in the specification are verified In addition, the ideal candidate will have:
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • A hands-on, "get it done" attitude
  • Strong communication and leadership ability
  • Creativity and self-motivation to solve unique and complex issues
  • Desire to lead teams and be promoted to higher levels of responsibility
  • Knowledge of Microsoft programs including: Windows 7, MS Project, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and cultivate cooperative relationships with various functional teams and individuals, even when having no direct authority over them
  • Excellent organizational and listening skills
