Full-Time Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead mechanical maintenance, equipment improvement, installation, and capital projects within a poultry processing facility. This position will be responsible for planning and executing projects safely, on schedule, and within budget while minimizing disruption to production. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical engineering and project-management experience, preferably in poultry processing, food manufacturing, industrial maintenance, or other high-volume manufacturing environments . Key Responsibilities Manage mechanical maintenance and capital projects from planning through completion. Coordinate installation, repair, modification, and commissioning of production equipment. Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, manpower requirements, and material requirements. Work closely with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, Safety, Quality, and Production teams. Manage contractors, vendors, and subcontractors during equipment installations and facility projects. Troubleshoot mechanical equipment and identify opportunities to improve reliability and productivity. Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance projects. Coordinate equipment shutdowns and major maintenance activities to minimize production downtime. Review drawings, equipment specifications, P&IDs, layouts, and technical documentation. Ensure projects comply with OSHA, food-safety, environmental, and company requirements. Monitor project costs, schedules, quality, and contractor performance. Lead equipment commissioning, startup, testing, and project closeout. Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular progress reports to management. Identify opportunities for reliability improvements, energy reduction, automation, and maintenance cost savings. Typical Equipment / Systems Experience with some of the following is preferred: Conveyors and material-handling systems Processing and packaging equipment Pumps, motors, gearboxes, and drives Refrigeration and cooling systems Compressed air and steam systems Hydraulic and pneumatic systems Wastewater and rendering-related equipment Boilers and utility systems Preventive/predictive maintenance programs Stainless-steel process piping and equipment Facility mechanical systems Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of mechanical project management or industrial maintenance experience. Experience in poultry processing, food manufacturing, meat processing, or a similar industrial environment strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience managing contractors and mechanical installation projects. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment reliability, and industrial maintenance. Ability to read engineering drawings, equipment layouts, and P&IDs. Strong project scheduling, budgeting, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and leadership abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project-management/scheduling software. Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and respond to maintenance emergencies when required. Preferred Experience Poultry processing or food-production facility experience Experience with USDA-regulated production environments CMMS experience Project management certification such as PMP Mechanical engineering or professional engineering background Experience with plant expansions, equipment installations, or major shutdowns Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously Physical / Work Environment This position requires regular presence in an industrial poultry-processing environment, including exposure to production equipment, noise, temperature variations, wet areas, and cleaning chemicals. The position may require walking throughout the facility, climbing stairs or ladders, and occasional work outside normal business hours during shutdowns or critical projects.

Pay:

$50,000.00 - $81,355.47 per year
