09/17/2026 About the Role Lantz Home Services is hiring an HVAC Service Manager to lead the daily work of our residential HVAC service team. You will run the service board, coach every technician on it, and own the quality of what our customers experience in their homes. You will also own the gross margin our service and installation work produces, which you will hold through smart labor and material decisions rather than through pricing. The HVAC department is growing, and this position is how we grow it well. You will work side by side with dispatch and our customer service team on capacity, with our install lead on job scopes and handoffs, with HR on hiring and developing people, and with our QA team on quality and callbacks. We serve homeowners across the Austin metro and Highland Lakes markets, and our reputation in those communities is built one visit at a time. If you like building people and want a service department that runs the same way whether or not you are standing there, this is a good fit. Key Responsibilities Lead the daily service board, including the morning huddle, capacity review, real time field support, and end of day review of completed calls and open estimates. Keep our operational coverage hours, 365 days a year, staffed with a named technician. Own the gross margin on service and installation work by managing labor cost per job, material cost, job costing, and waste. Coach technicians through ride alongs, call reviews, and consistent one on ones tied to a written scorecard. Teach complete diagnostics and honest, option based recommendations so homeowners can make informed decisions without pressure. Improve average ticket, conversion, and estimate follow up through better communication and technical confidence. Identify replacement opportunities early and hand off accurate, complete scopes to the install team. Build membership into service and maintenance visits so customers get a long term relationship, not a coupon. Recruit, interview, and onboard service technicians, maintenance technicians, and apprentices, and keep good people once you have them. Review every callback for root cause and coach the behavior that prevents the repeat. Own serious customer escalations personally and resolve them quickly. Give the Operations Manager an honest weekly read on production, capacity, staffing, and quality. Qualifications, Required Five or more years of residential HVAC experience, including two or more years leading or managing technicians. Direct experience supervising roughly five to ten field employees. Strong residential HVAC knowledge across heat pumps, gas furnaces, dual fuel and inverter systems, airflow and static pressure, duct systems, humidity, condensate management, and indoor air quality.
