Open Until Filled The Village of Homer is accepting resumes for the position of Village Treasurer. This position reports directly to the Village Board. The Village Treasurer serves as the Chief Financial Officer of the Village, and as such assumes custody of all monies belonging to the Village. The Village Treasurer performs a variety of professional, administrative, and managerial duties related to organizing and controlling the financial operations of the Village. Including but not limited to; directing and coordinating activities in the areas of accounting, internal auditing, budgeting, treasury, bond and grant administration, debt administration, budget management, purchasing, and payroll. Responsibility for all financial record keeping, budgeting, and reporting required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited college with a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration or related area; AND five (5) years of progressively more responsible experience related to above duties; three (3) years of which must have been in a supervisory/management capacity; OR an equivalent combination of education or experience. Proficiency in municipal (GAAP) accounting practices as per: www.osc.state.ny.us/localgov/pubs/arm.pdf Salary dependent on experience. The Village of Homer offers a competitive benefit package.
