Job Description

Central Scheduling
  • Scheduler
  • (FT) The Central Scheduler is responsible for scheduling procedures within Madisonhealth in conjunction with the patient's Physician's office.
This position verifies insurance eligibility through Experian and ensures the patient is confident with the dates, times and locations of all procedures being scheduled. This position is often the patient's first contact with Madisonhealth and is expected to help all patients in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner. The Central Scheduler is required to work within a team setting, and they will be expected to contribute in meeting department goals and objectives as it relates to the beginning of the patient care plan.
Classification:
Full time Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
Required Skills:
1. Has fundamental understanding of basic math calculations 2. Working knowledge of computer systems and the ability to learn new programs 3. Must be willing and able to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in carrying out duties 4. Has strong organizational skills and excellent problem-solving capabilities, as well as having a high the level of attention to detail and accuracy 5. Must feel comfortable interacting professionally with patients as well as with hospital employees and physicians and their office staff
Minimum Work Experience:
1. One year of experience in medical billing, admitting, or scheduling preferred
