Job Description

Louisiana Pain Care, LLC/ArkLaMiss Surgery Center, LLC has an immediate opening for a Procedure Scheduler. Fast paced medical office and ambulatory surgery center. Need a very dependable, knowledgeable, procedure scheduler with a great work ethic who is ready to join our team and have a long-term future with our work family.
Procedure Scheduler Duties and Responsibilities:
Review and process (Pre-Cert) procedure request for insurance authorizations in a timely and efficient manner. Communicate with insurance companies to ensure approvals for procedures are obtained prior to the scheduled date. Strong knowledge of payer and payer websites required. Ability to read and interpret medical records to communicate effectively. Ensure all authorizations are compliant with healthcare regulations, payer policies, and internal procedures. Must understand payer medical policy and guidelines to determine requirements have been met for medical necessity. Schedule surgical procedures according to scheduling guidelines. Answer phones and respond to inquiries. Ensure the surgery charts are complete and ready to go Ensure all preop testing is performed and the physician has reviewed prior to procedure. Manage procedure schedule to ensure optimal scheduling. Provides accurate, detailed information to patients regarding test preparations, time of patients scheduled arrival, and any other directional information needed; takes appropriate action in responding to questions from patients. Ensures patients have proper medical clearance and pre-surgical testing as needed. Scans all procedure consents and disclosures into electronic medical record. Detail oriented and ability to multi-task with efficient time management skills.
Experience and Education:
2-3 years and above pre-certification experience is a MUST. High School or GED (Required) •Must be willing to submit to a Background Check and Drug Testing.
