Clinical Scheduling Coordinator

New Haven, CT Temporary $28.00 - $28.00/hr Hybrid Job Description The Clinical Scheduling Coordinator serves as a key member of the departments administrative team, supporting providers, patients, and clinical staff through comprehensive appointment and surgical scheduling services. This role is responsible for coordinating outpatient visits, operating room schedules, diagnostic testing, and related patient care activities while delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while serving as a primary point of contact for patients, providers, and internal departments. Coordinate surgical procedures, including securing operating room dates and arranging pre-operative and post-operative appointments.

Schedule required testing, laboratory work, and consultations needed prior to procedures.

Communicate surgery-related information to patients and providers and monitor completion of required documentation.

Manage changes to surgical schedules and communicate updates to all involved parties.

Assist with referrals, authorizations, and patient documentation as needed.

Ensure patient records, forms, and supporting medical documentation are complete and properly organized.

Coordinate communication between departments regarding patient care and medical records.

Utilize electronic scheduling and medical record systems to enter, update, and retrieve information.

Generate reports and maintain departmental metrics, patient statistics, and scheduling data.

Prepare correspondence, patient education materials, reports, and other business-related documents. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.

Previous medical scheduling, healthcare administration, or physician practice experience required

Experience coordinating surgical procedures and managing complex scheduling required

Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office applications.

EPIC experience strongly preferred

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Location:

New Haven, CT

Schedule:

Hybrid | Monday-Friday | 8:30 AM-5:00 PM - Monday-Tuesday(on site) Wednesday-Friday(remote)

Duration:

6 month assignment

Pay Rate:
