Job Description
Our SFO location is getting close to receiving Customs and Border Protection (CBP) certification as a Container Freight Station (CFS), and we are currently looking for an experienced CFS Warehouse Manager to join our team. Experience with CBP-authorized CFS operations involving in-bond cargo handling and related CBP requirements—not simply general warehouse operations that receive containerized freight. This position is responsible for managing overall warehouse operations while leading the company's transition toward becoming a U.S. Customs-approved Container Freight Station (CFS). The Warehouse Manager will oversee the relocation, setup, and operational readiness of the new facility, ensuring it meets CBP requirements for future CFS designation. The ideal candidate has prior experience managing a CFS warehouse and possesses strong operational, compliance, and leadership skills to establish a fully compliant, efficient, and secure warehouse operation.
Job Description:
CFS Development & Compliance- Develop and implement policies and systems to meet CFS and CBP requirements.
- Prepare and support the CFS application process.
- Establish bonded and non-bonded warehouse procedures, security controls, and recordkeeping.
- Train staff on CFS operations, compliance, and cargo control processes. Warehouse Operations
- Manage daily receiving, storage, and shipping activities.
- Maintain accurate inventory and ensure timely cargo processing.
- Review billing and ensure accurate invoicing for bonded and non-bonded freight.
- Coordinate with internal teams for smooth cargo flow and customer satisfaction. Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, CARB, and internal safety policies.
- Conduct audits, report findings, and implement corrective actions.
- Support CTPAT and other compliance programs. Leadership & Communication
- Supervise warehouse team, ensuring adherence to performance and safety standards.
- Report progress on relocation and CFS readiness to senior management.
- Stay current with regulations and industry best practices. Qualifications:
- Minimum two years of supervisory or management experience within CFS office and warehouse operations.
- Experience interacting with various stakeholders, including customers, customs authorities, shipping agents, and government agencies.
- Experience with trucking operations preferred.
- Proficient in
WMS, ABI, ACE/AMS
Software.- Ability to support office and warehouse operations when necessary.
- Excellent crisis management skills and exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Proficient computer skills and professional communication etiquette.
- Availability to work extended hours as needed by customer/shipment.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
