Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Outbound Lead to oversee and optimize our outbound logistics operations within our distribution center. This pivotal role involves leading a team responsible for shipping, receiving, and inventory control, ensuring seamless warehouse operations aligned with industry standards and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive warehouse experience, and a comprehensive understanding of logistics systems to drive process improvements and elevate operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the outbound logistics team to ensure timely and accurate shipment processing Oversee shipping and receiving activities, including coordination with carriers and third-party logistics providers (3PL) Implement and monitor inventory management systems to maintain optimal stock levels Utilize RF scanners, warehouse management systems (WMS), and Microsoft Office tools for operational tracking and reporting Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and safety protocols during all warehouse activities Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance workflow efficiency, reduce errors, and minimize costs Supervise the operation of material handling equipment such as forklifts, ensuring safe and effective use Coordinate with warehouse supervisors to streamline distribution center operations Manage team performance through effective managerial communication, training, and development Support heavy lifting tasks and materials handling to meet daily shipping demands Duties The Outbound Lead will be responsible for executing core functions that sustain the efficiency of our distribution processes: Oversee daily outbound shipping schedules, ensuring all orders are processed accurately within designated timeframes Supervise inventory control procedures to prevent stock discrepancies and facilitate accurate order fulfillment Coordinate with warehouse staff to optimize the use of forklift trucks, RF scanners, and other material handling equipment Maintain detailed records using inventory management systems and warehouse management software for traceability Collaborate with logistics providers to schedule pickups, deliveries, and resolve any shipment issues promptly Conduct regular safety inspections in compliance with OSHA standards to promote a safe working environment Lead efforts in process improvement by analyzing workflow data and implementing lean management principles Facilitate communication between team members, management, and external partners to ensure operational alignment Support e-commerce order fulfillment processes by managing shipping & receiving workflows efficiently Assist in training new team members on warehouse operations, safety procedures, and system usage Experience Candidates should demonstrate a solid background in warehouse distribution with proven leadership capabilities: Extensive experience in warehouse operations, including shipping & receiving, inventory control, and materials handling Prior supervisory or managerial experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, and RF scanner technology Knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as lean management or continuous improvement strategies Hands-on experience operating forklifts and other heavy lifting equipment safely in accordance with OSHA guidelines Strong understanding of logistics principles related to 3PL providers, e-commerce fulfillment, and distribution center operations Excellent communication skills for managerial oversight, team leadership, and cross-department collaboration Ability to handle physically demanding tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader eager to influence warehouse efficiency on a broad scale.
