Sewage Treatment Plant Attendant South & Center Chautauqua Lake Sewer District Location:
Celoron, NY The South & Center Chautauqua Lake Sewer District is currently accepting applications for a Sewage Treatment Plant Attendant to join our team in Celoron, NY. This position performs semi-skilled work assisting with the operation, cleaning and maintenance of sewage treatment plant equipment, buildings and grounds. The Sewage Treatment Plant Attendant works under the direct supervision of higher-ranking sewage treatment plant staff and performs duties in accordance with established operating practices, procedures and safety requirements. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on, mechanical and outdoor work and is interested in gaining experience in wastewater treatment and public infrastructure. Typical Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities may include: Tend pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum filters, incinerators and related treatment plant equipment. Read and record information from charts, flow meters, gauges and other monitoring equipment. Assist with the cleaning, operation and maintenance of sewage pumps, pipes, screens, tanks, filters and related equipment. Perform routine custodial and minor maintenance work involving plant buildings and equipment. Lubricate valves, pumps and other equipment. Perform general housekeeping and groundskeeping duties, including washing floors, mowing grass, watering lawns and caring for shrubs. Assist with a variety of manual labor and maintenance tasks throughout the facility. Remove snow and ice from sidewalks, walkways and driveways. May operate light automotive equipment and NYS Class B dump and flush trucks in the performance of assigned duties. Perform other related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma. Additional Requirements Applicants must possess, at the time of application and appointment, a valid New York State Class D Driver's License.
Pay:
$21.05 - $26.85 per hour
