Licensing Manager SUMMARY:
Responsible for entering all data from gaming license applications for backgrounds as required by PGC Regulations, National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) requirements, Pala's Tribal-State Gaming Compact with the State of California and the Commission policies and procedures (hereinafter referred to as Regulations) into the Commission's computerized data base.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES
Maintain Databases pursuant to Regulations. Ensures the timely completion of work. Scan documents from Licensees' files into the Database. Review scanned documents for accuracy and transfer to the appropriate Licensee files. Receive and maintain confidential information both verbally and written. Enter all applicant information into databases. Ensure that the Commission databases are kept accurate and up to date. Responsible for the timely filing of all reports and documentation required by Regulations, as directed by the Licensing Manager. Assist Licensing Agents in the performance of their duties. Comply with Commission Regulations. Ability to screen applicants as needed. Able to interact with all levels of personnel and the public in a professional manner. Able to understand and adhere to non-disclosure and confidentiality policy. Responsible for complying with the Licensing department's policies and procedures. Analyze procedures performed and make recommendations to the Licensing Manager regarding changes to established procedures. Interact with Tribal Executive Committee, Commissioners and PGC Staff. Maintain Commission files and records according to prescribed Regulations. Ability to work independently. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced setting. Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be 21 years or older. Ability to read and write the English language. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Able to work effectively with PGC staff and casino employees. Gaming experience preferred. High School diploma, college course work preferred. Proficient in office computer software applications (word processing, spreadsheet, and database). Must acknowledge and agree to maintain a Drug-Free workplace (including marijuana) as a condition of employment with the Pala Band of Mission Indians. Must pass pre-employment and random drug testing during employment.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figure an amount such as discount, percentage and interest. CERTIFICATION and
LICENSES
Must pass an extensive background investigation equivalent to a casino key employee.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk see or hear. The employee will need to be able to lift at least 10 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to work near a moderate noise level, in a business office setting.
