Responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling practices. Assist in menu planning and development, taking into account dietary needs and preferences. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other cooking tools. Participate in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols. Qualifications Previous experience in a restaurant, food service, or catering environment is preferred. Knowledge of food handling procedures and safety regulations. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment within the kitchen. Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques. Experience working in a dietary department is a plus but not required. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
