Shop Carpenter / Fabrication & Repair Technician

Everything Entertainment is seeking a skilled Shop Carpenter / Fabrication & Repair Technician to join our team full-time at our Staten Island shop. We are an event production and rental company that designs, builds, maintains, and rents a wide range of equipment including stages, theatrical flats, bars, tables, décor elements, and custom event structures. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on woodworking and fabrication experience who enjoys building custom pieces and maintaining equipment used for high-end events. Responsibilities Build custom rental equipment and scenic elements from drawings and sketches Repair and maintain existing inventory including tables, bars, stage components, and other event equipment Read and interpret AutoCAD drawings and detailed hand sketches Work with materials such as plywood, dimensional lumber, MDF, laminates, metal, and fabric Operate shop equipment including table saw, miter saw, drill press, CNC router, and other power tools Perform painting, finishing, and detailing work on equipment Assist with fabrication of theatrical flats and custom stage elements Occasionally travel to event venues (primarily in Manhattan or NYC area) to assist with installations or complex repairs Pick up materials and supplies when needed Required Skills & Experience 2-3+ years of hands-on woodworking or fabrication experience Ability to read and build from CAD drawings and detailed sketches Experience using professional shop tools and equipment Strong attention to detail and ability to build clean, accurate work Comfortable working with wood, sheet goods, and hardware Ability to paint and finish fabricated pieces Valid driver's license required Ability to lift and move materials and equipment Must be fluent in English Preferred (but not required) Basic MIG welding experience cabinetmaking scenic carpentry exhibit fabrication prop building custom furniture building theater or event production shops CNC experience OSHA or safety certifications Position Details Full-time position 35-40 hours per week with occasional seasonal overtime Work performed primarily at our Staten Island fabrication shop Occasional work at event venues for installations or repairs All tools provided in our shop Compensation $26 - $32 per hour depending on experience Opportunity to work on unique custom projects for events and productions
