Client Engagement Representative MyFloraDNA West Sacramento, CA Job Details Full-time $21 - $22 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance 401(k) Paid time off 401(k) matching Qualifications Live chat Customer relationship management Organizational skills Account management Client interaction via phone calls Full Job Description About MyFloraDNA Founded in 2019, MyFloraDNA is a leading agriculture technology company based in West Sacramento, CA, specializing in plant pathogen detection testing, tissue culture and DNA fingerprinting for cannabis and hemp cultivators. We help growers catch problems early and protect their crops through science-based diagnostics — giving our clients the tools to improve financial performance and reduce operational risk. We're a small, close-knit team where your work is visible and your name doesn't get lost in a big org chart. We're also actively growing beyond diagnostics — expanding into tissue culture and other areas of the cannabis and hemp industry, with new technology in the pipeline as well. If you want in on a company still being built — not just maintained — this is that kind of place. About the
Opportunity:
MyFloraDNA is hiring a Client Engagement Representative — a new, dedicated role focused entirely on proactive client relationships. This position exists because our clients need more than order fulfillment: they need someone to reach out first — by phone, text, email, or social media — confirming their account is set up correctly, checking in after every purchase, and catching issues before they turn into complaints. This is a proactive, relationship-first role. If your instinct is to wait for the client to reach out, this isn't the right fit.
Key Responsibilities:
Proactive Client Outreach Reach out to every new client within 1 business day of their first purchase — by phone or email — to welcome them and confirm next steps. Proactively check that clients are set up correctly on our client portal and know how to use it — don't wait for them to get stuck or complain. Follow up on pending samples, delays, or discrepancies before the client has to ask, using whichever channel gets the fastest, clearest response (phone, email, or chat). Check in periodically with existing clients to gauge satisfaction and surface unmet needs. Monitor and respond promptly to client messages across social media and other online platforms. Treat every interaction as a relationship-building opportunity, not just a ticket to close. Account & Order Management Manage and maintain client accounts within our client management platform. Support new client onboarding, coordinating with the onboarding team. Track client orders from submission through completion. Keep CRM records accurate and current. Client Services & Communication Handle inbound calls, emails, and social media messages, but prioritize proactive outbound contact as a core, daily part of the job. Communicate proactively about sample discrepancies, delays, or account issues — before clients have to ask. Coordinate kit shipping and delivery tracking as needed. Engagement & Retention Track outreach activity and report weekly on engagement metrics (contacts made, accounts checked, issues caught proactively). Flag at-risk or disengaged accounts to management. Share weekly updates on client feedback trends. Office & Facilities Support Help keep the office running — greeting visitors, restocking supplies, staying organized Conduct weekly inventory checks and assist with collection kit assembly Manage outgoing kit shipping, including label generation and delivery tracking with
UPS/USPS
Flag facility-related issues (repairs, supply shortages, maintenance needs) to appropriate parties
What You Bring:
2+ years in a customer-facing or account management role that involved initiating contact with customers — not just responding to inbound requests. Comfortable and confident communicating across multiple channels — phone, email, and social media/chat. Demonstrated track record of proactive follow-up (able to speak to specific examples in an interview). Strong follow-through and organizational skills — reliably does what they say they'll do. Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills. Previous experience in the cannabis industry is preferred, particularly in cultivation, testing, or other B2B cannabis services. Must be 21 years of age or older (cannabis facility compliance requirement).
