A Customer Service Representative interacts directly with customers to answer questions and solve problems. Communicates with customers in person, over the phone or online. Provides help with troubleshooting technical problems for equipment or software. Keeps records of customer communications and transactions.
The Charlie Mitchell Children's Center is part of a Rural Health Center offering family-focused primary care to children up to age 21 with acute and chronic medical conditions. The clinic is located on the Valley Children's main campus in Madera. Doctors at the clinic also treat patients' siblings so that brothers and sisters can all receive medical care from the same practice. We bring an interdisciplinary approach to patient care; in addition to board-certified pediatricians, the practice is staffed with nurses, phlebotomists, a pharmacist, a case manager and a social worker. Clinical psychologists and Child Life specialists are available by referral. The interdisciplinary plan includes management of care, ordering of tests, immunizations, administration of medication, scheduling and follow-up of appointments, specimen collection and processing, and coordination and/or referral of appointments for other subspecialists and allied health professionals. Language needs are addressed by bilingual staff and hospital interpreters.
Job Summary:
The Ambulatory Service Representative (ASR) welcomes patients and families and performs check-in procedures in a timely, customer friendly and efficient manner in accordance with VCH guidelines. Responsible for the patients' pre and in-person registration including the accurate capture and validation of demographic and insurance information, insurance eligibility, and the collection of co-payment, deductible and other known self-pay amounts. Partners with providers to schedule new referrals and follow up appointments for patients and coordinates appointments with other departments Participates in department projects that result in process improvements to support accomplishment of strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education High School Diploma/G.E.D. (required) Work Experience Minimum two (2) years Clerical and/or healthcare experience (required) Secretarial/clerical training (preferred) Skills and Abilities Computer Skills Proficient computer skills and aptitude. Excellent communication/interpersonal skills as well as the ability to problem solve effectively and handle multiple priorities. Bilingual Skills Preferred.
