Qualifications:

Valid ASLPI (American Sign Language Proficiency Interview) score of 4.1 or higher Proven experience interpreting in educational environments, preferably within K-12 settings Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with Deaf culture Ability to collaborate with educators, staff, and students of diverse backgrounds Current credentials/certification as required by the state or district for educational interpreting Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills Willingness to work exclusively on-site in a full-time capacity

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct 1:1 ASL interpretation services between students and faculty Facilitate clear, effective communication to support student participation in classroom and school activities Collaborate with teachers and educational teams to ensure students instructional access Modify interpreting strategies to fit a variety of learning, classroom, and extracurricular settings Maintain strict confidentiality and adherence to ethical standards Offer feedback regarding student progress as needed
