Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic educational environment providing essential support as a Sign Language Interpreter for the upcoming 26/27 school year. This contract position offers meaningful daily interaction and collaboration within a school community dedicated to accessibility and student growth. Working full-time, Monday through Friday, you'll serve as the communication bridge for students who are Deaf or hard of hearing—ensuring equitable access to instruction and social participation. Your core responsibility will be to attend classes alongside assigned students, interpreting spoken language and classroom instruction in real time. Advocating for student comprehension, you may occasionally clarify or re-deliver information as needed. Beyond the classroom, you'll facilitate social communication between students and their hearing peers, fostering an inclusive atmosphere.
Key Qualifications:
Active Georgia licensure and credentials (submission of verification required) Minimum EIPA score of 3.5 Georgia Educator's Certification (please submit with application) Proven experience interpreting in educational settings preferred Full-time availability for onsite work throughout the standard academic week Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability within diverse school environments Dedicated, reliable transportation
