With four openings available, this contract role begins as soon as possible and runs through the 2026-2027 school year. As an onsite interpreter, you will support students and staff by ensuring seamless communication and creating an inclusive educational environment.

Desired Qualifications:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and a strong command of interpreting techniques Previous experience providing sign language interpretation in educational settings is highly valued Certification or licensure as required by state or school district standards for interpreters Ability to adapt interpretation styles to various classroom and meeting scenarios Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach with both students and staff Reliability, professionalism, and strong organizational abilities

Responsibilities:

Deliver accurate, confidential sign language interpretation during classroom instruction, assemblies, meetings, and school events Facilitate clear communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their peers, teachers, and support personnel Work closely with teachers and staff to adapt to schedules and address individual student needs Maintain impartiality and adhere to professional interpreting ethics Support the educational goals of students by ensuring they have equal access to all school programs and resources This role offers meaningful engagement within a supportive team and the chance to directly empower students through communication access.
