ABOUT JCC MID-WESTCHESTER JCCMW
is a multi-generational center in Westchester located on the New Rochelle/Scarsdale border. We support the entire lower/mid Westchester community by offering outstanding human services, educational, cultural, and recreational, and fitness programs within and beyond our walls. The expansive Bendheim Performing Arts Center, recently bolstered by a $1 million investment, is a state-of-the-art theater with over 200 seats that serves as a dynamic hub for the performing arts. The JCCMW primarily operates this vibrant venue, featuring a variety of performances by local arts organizations, including renowned children's theater companies, as well as arts organizations and schools.Job Summary:
The Theatre Coordinator will assist the Director of Performing Arts and support staff with day-to-day operations including interfacing with patrons, rentals, and partners; scheduling and coordinating the services and programs of the Bendheim Performing Arts Center; stepping in as-needed with classes and productions; provide tours and orientations for support staff, rentals, and consultants; and providing organizational/administrative support for the theatre to ensure a positive customer experience for all patrons and guests.Key Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Communicate with potential and existing renters for the theatre - including phone, email, walk-throughs, and prep documentation. Ensure contracts and payments are complete.
- Coordinate with staff about internal programs in the theatre, ensuring program staff, facilities team members, and security have what is needed to run successful events.
- Direct technical production operations for events. Partner with audiovisual technicians to ensure events are staffed and fully supported. Train technicians on our theatre and equipment.
- Work with internal staff on necessary theatre upkeep, including facilities instructions, upgrades, and equipment evaluation and procurement.
- Model and promote a culture of safety and professionalism while overseeing the maintenance, upkeep, and operational readiness of studios and theater spaces.
- Monitor theater operations to ensure adherence to all state, local, and JCC health and safety regulations and policies.
- Oversee and train Event Coordinators and ushers on theatre protocol.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Director of Performing Arts. Skills, Education and Experience
- At least four years of college education and two years of work experience
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Positive attitude and customer service focused perspective.
- Professional communication in person, phone, email.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge and experience working in a theatre is preferred.
