Job Description
About the UGC Video Editor We're looking for a video editor who lives and breathes UGC — the raw, authentic, thumb-stopping style that outperforms polished ads on social feeds. You'll take creator-shot and customer-submitted footage (talking-head clips, unboxings, testimonials, day-in-the-life content) and cut it into scroll-stopping, native-feeling videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. This isn't about making things look "produced" — it's about knowing exactly how much (or how little) polish keeps content feeling real while still driving engagement and conversion. This is a part time role based in the US in any of the following states: California, Colorado, Minnesota, Texas. What You'll Do Edit raw UGC/creator footage (talking-head, testimonial, unboxing, demo, and lifestyle-style clips) into fast-paced, native-feeling short-form videos Add on-trend captions, text overlays, hooks, and sound design that match current platform formats (not corporate/ad-style editing) Build strong hooks in the first 1-3 seconds to stop the scroll Cut multiple variations/hooks from the same raw footage for A/B testing ad creative Stay current on UGC and short-form trends, sounds, transitions, and formats across TikTok, Reels, and Shorts Collaborate with the content/marketing/paid social team on briefs, creator footage selection, and performance feedback Organize and manage a library of raw creator footage, hooks, captions templates, and trending audio Turn around quick edits and iterate fast based on performance data or feedback What We're Looking For 1-3+ years editing UGC, creator, or influencer-style content specifically (not just traditional/branded video) — portfolio or reel required, UGC samples strongly preferred Strong proficiency in CapCut and/or Adobe Premiere Pro A sharp instinct for what makes UGC feel authentic vs. overproduced — pacing, captions, hooks, and sound that match platform-native norms Familiarity with performance-driven editing (hook variations, A/B testing creative, editing to metrics/retention) Ability to work independently, prioritize, and hit fast turnaround times Strong communication skills and comfort taking/receiving feedback
