Job Description

Job Overview For 20 years, 42-line has been championed independently by our CEO and Founder, Ginger. As we scale our work in high-resolution photography and the preservation of rare, valuable materials, we are expanding our team.

We are seeking a structured, detail-oriented Studio & Archive Assistant . This paid position is a unique learning opportunity designed for queer and BIPOC artists, photographers, or MLIS students who want to bridge the gap between creative practice and technical organization. You will work directly with Ginger to establish foundational workflows, manage assets, and keep the daily operations of the studio running smoothly.
Responsibilities Archiving & File Management:
Implement strict file-naming conventions, manage digital asset workflows, and process images using Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, and Capture One.
Inventory Tracking:
Maintain meticulously organized records of physical project materials, photography gear, and books.
Project Coordination:
Track project dates, manage team calendars, and monitor upcoming deadlines.
Studio Operations:
Support daily office health by checking the mail, coordinating team lunch orders, and maintaining a tidy desk/studio space.
Documentation:
Act as the team note-keeper during meetings, ensuring action items are captured and distributed.
Experience & Qualifications The Organization Mindset:
High interest in library science, archiving, or digital asset management ( MLIS students are highly encouraged to apply ).
Technical Familiarity:
Comfortable with Excel, Word, and basic file structures. Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop or Capture One is a plus but we will train the right person.
Detail-Oriented:
A passion for precision, whether you are renaming 500 digital image files or tracking project deadlines.
Communication:
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients and support Ginger's workflow. How to
