3rd Grade Teacher

About the Role Prescott Valley Charter School is seeking a highly effective, student-centered 3rd Grade Teacher who understands the critical importance of this grade level in a child's academic journey. Third grade is a pivotal year! Students must leave 3rd grade as confident, capable readers and writers prepared for the demands of 4th grade and beyond. The ideal candidate understands Arizona's Move On When Reading (MOWR) requirements and is committed to ensuring every student makes strong, measurable progress toward proficiency. This is not a passive, lecture-based classroom. We are looking for an educator who actively engages students in meaningful learning experiences and takes ownership of student outcomes. What You'll Do Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in reading, writing, and math Provide explicit, systematic literacy instruction aligned to Move On When Reading requirements Ensure students develop strong reading fluency, comprehension, and writing skills by the end of 3rd grade Use a variety of instructional strategies including small group instruction, targeted interventions, and guided practice Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners Allow students to progress based on individual readiness rather than a fixed whole-class pace Utilize AI-supported, adaptive learning tools to personalize instruction and accelerate student growth Collaborate with special education and ELL staff to support struggling learners and close achievement gaps Monitor student progress and use data to inform daily instruction and intervention decisions Analyze student data regularly and adjust instruction to drive measurable academic growth Prepare students for state assessments with a focus on real understanding Foster a positive classroom culture with clear expectations and strong relationships Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and reading proficiency Collaborate with colleagues and administration to support student success Who You Are You understand the urgency and importance of 3rd grade literacy You are results-driven and take ownership of student outcomes You are engaging, structured, and intentional in your teaching You are highly data-driven and use student performance data to guide instruction You are comfortable integrating technology, including AI-supported adaptive learning tools You value collaboration and work effectively with support staff to meet diverse student needs You are reflective and committed to continuous improvement Qualifications Bachelor's degree required Valid Arizona teaching certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment (required) Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (required) Elementary teaching experience preferred (3rd grade and/or literacy experience strongly preferred) Why Join Us?
