Montessori-trained candidates will be given priority. In this role, you will provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where young toddlers can develop independence, confidence, and a love of learning. The Young Toddler Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate, Montessori-inspired experiences that support each child's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development. The ideal candidate understands the unique needs of young toddlers and is patient, attentive, and respectful in supporting children through this important stage of growth and increasing independence. Primary Responsibilities Ensure the overall supervision, safety, and daily care of a group of young toddlers Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, Montessori-inspired activities and experiences Support children in developing independence through practical life activities, self-care, and age-appropriate classroom responsibilities Provide consistent, positive, and respectful guidance while supporting children as they learn to manage emotions, interact with others, and solve problems Support children through daily routines, including meals, diapering/toileting, handwashing, rest, transitions, and outdoor play Encourage language development, movement, exploration, concentration, and social-emotional growth through intentional interactions and activities Observe children closely and assess and document developmental progress on an ongoing basis Create and maintain an organized, calm, nurturing, and engaging Montessori-inspired classroom environment Prepare and maintain developmentally appropriate classroom materials and learning activities Follow and support the school's Montessori philosophy and approach to respectful care and guidance Maintain compliance with all school policies and local, state, and national licensing regulations Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the classroom, shared spaces, and playground areas Communicate regularly and professionally with families regarding their child's development, daily experiences, and needs Collaborate with the Leadership Team and teaching team to plan and conduct parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations Work collaboratively with co-teachers and other staff to maintain consistency in classroom routines and expectations Attend all required staff meetings, trainings, workshops, and school events Assist with additional duties as assigned by the Director or designee Qualifications Montessori certification or experience preferred, with a willingness to continue Montessori training Candidates must hold an appropriate Lead Teacher qualification (PDIS level 2 credential).
