About us Primrose School of Arden Hills is an accredited private preschool committed to a research-informed approach to early childhood education. We provide a safe, nurturing environment where every child is celebrated and supported in their growth — academically, socially, and emotionally. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Transitional Kindergarten Teacher to join our dedicated team. Position overview The Lead Transitional Kindergarten Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing a developmentally appropriate curriculum for children who are preparing for Elementary. This teacher serves as the primary instructor and role model in the classroom, guiding assistant teachers and creating a warm, structured environment that fosters school readiness skills. Key responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with Primrose School's Balanced Learning® curriculum Create a structured, nurturing classroom environment that supports children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development Observe, document, and assess each child's progress and communicate findings to families through regular conferences and updates Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues Supervise, mentor, and collaborate with assistant teachers and classroom aides Ensure classroom health, safety, and compliance with licensing regulations and Primrose standards at all times Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events Support smooth transitions and school-readiness milestones for each child in the program Qualifications Required Valid Minnesota Teaching License (Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field) Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a closely related field Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for pre-kindergarten and transitional kindergarten-aged children Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills Ability to pass a required background check Preferred Prior experience in a licensed early childhood or private preschool setting Experience leading and mentoring classroom assistants Familiarity with school readiness frameworks and kindergarten transition practices CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) What we offer Competitive salary commensurate with education and experience Tuition discount for employees' children enrolled at Primrose Paid professional development and ongoing training opportunities Supportive, collaborative team environment Health, dental, and vision benefits (for eligible positions)
