The successful candidates will join a professional organization dedicated to student success. They will be expected to perform duties customary to an elementary teacher in PK to 5th grade. Those duties include preparing lessons toward mastery of the state standards, collaborating with other faculty, small group instruction, differentiating instruction and providing interventions, working with administrators and coaches to improve performance, monitoring students, and collaborate and communicate with parents and other stakeholders. Developing and administering assessments is also required. An active TN PK-5 teaching license is required for the applicable grade level or the ability to obtain a TN teaching license. Attendance is an essential function of the job. The responsibilities of an elementary educator are: creating lesson plans, differentiating instruction, instructing students according to the state standards, organizing and managing the learning environment, monitoring student progress and providing interventions.
QUALIFICATIONS
 Bachelor's Degree in Education  Hold appropriate Tennessee certification license  Demonstrated organizational skills  Effective decision-making and verbal and written communication skills  Be Highly Qualified in this area
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the School Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.

Directs assistant teachers, student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers and/or student workers for the purpose of providing an effective classroom program and addressing the needs of individual students. 8. Participates in a variety of meetings and professional development activities for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions. 10. Monitors students in a variety of educational environments for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment. 11. Prepares a variety of written materials to document student progress and meet mandated requirements. 12. Collaborates with instructional staff, other school personnel, parents and a variety of community resources for the purpose of improving the overall quality of student outcomes, achieving established classroom objectives in support of the school improvement plan. 13. Plan, develop, implement, and monitor with student success as your goal. 14. Use available technology in your lessons. 15. Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.
