What they do
An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Job Description
Responsibilities include:
Following the established Junior Kindergarten curriculum Creating a warm, positive, and engaging classroom environment Providing developmentally appropriate learning experiences for four- and five-year-old students Supporting students' academic, social, and emotional growth Maintaining classroom routines and expectations Communicating with parents as needed Collaborating with the other Junior Kindergarten teacher and Sullins faculty Helping ensure the health, safety, and well-being of studentsQualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred Experience working with young children preferred Positive, patient, dependable, and enthusiastic Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team This is a temporary position anticipated to run from September through mid-December 2026 . As a condition of employment, newly hired employees must obtain a fingerprint background clearance and furnish proof of identity and employment authorization status.
