After School Program Teachers After School Academy in La Crescenta - 5.0 La Crescenta, CA Job Details Part-time $18 - $25 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications History tutoring Mathematics tutoring Educational support mentoring Learning styles adaptability Math Working with students Teaching English language arts Elementary school-age children care Science tutoring Student engagement classroom management Full Job Description After-School Tutoring Teacher Our Academy is looking for a patient, responsible, and experienced After-School Tutoring Teacher who enjoys working with elementary-age students. The teacher will be responsible for a small group of approximately 4-8 students and will provide individualized academic support within the group setting. Responsibilities Assist students with daily homework in all elementary-level subjects Help students study and prepare for upcoming quizzes and tests Review concepts students are struggling with and provide additional instruction as needed Prepare supplemental worksheets, practice materials, and activities to support academic growth Monitor each student's progress and identify areas that need improvement Keep students focused, organized, and on task during homework and study time Maintain a positive, structured, and encouraging classroom environment Qualifications Previous experience teaching, tutoring, or working with elementary-age children Must be comfortable assisting with all elementary-level subjects , including Math, English/Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies Patient and able to work with students of different academic levels and learning styles Strong communication and classroom-management skills Organized, dependable, and proactive Able to manage and provide attention to 4-8 students at a time We are looking for someone who will do more than simply supervise homework. The ideal teacher will actively identify students' academic needs and provide the additional practice and support necessary to help them build stronger skills and make consistent academic progress .
