Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, and relate well to children. Willingness to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the school's program and philosophy.
Schedule:
Part-time position following the school year calendar (September to June).
Hours:
1:45 pm to 6:00 pm on all school days; hours may vary based on attendance. Guaranteed 4 hours on each scheduled day.
On scheduled Early Release days:
11:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Responsibilities:
Supervise students in classroom, afterschool and recreational settings. Ensure the health and safety of children: administer first aid, respond to emergencies, execute fire drill procedures. Assist with general housekeeping tasks. Help serve snack/lunch (lunch only on half days). Attend required training and conferences. Maintain a neat and organized classroom and recreational space. Supervise all activities to ensure safety. Actively participate in program activities. Use appropriate disciplinary techniques as per program handbook. Plan and implement recreation and education activities. Record attendance of students. Assist students with homework. Report any issues with children to the Director. Participate in dismissal procedures, ensuring each child leaves with the appropriate adult. Greet parents and children professionally. Maintain a professional attitude and loyalty to the school. Collaborate with staff to create a positive, supportive team atmosphere. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director.
Other Requirements:
Attend all necessary trainings for the position. Not eligible for remote work. All hires are subject to successful completion of a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) background check and State mandated fingerprinting.
