$24.00 per hour About the Position We are looking for a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Afterschool Teacher to join our childcare center in Gresham, Oregon. The ideal candidate enjoys working with school-age children and is passionate about creating a safe, positive, and engaging environment where children can learn, play, and grow. We are especially interested in candidates who have a degree or educational background in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or a related field. Responsibilities Provide attentive and engaging supervision of school-age children Plan and lead fun, age-appropriate educational and recreational activities Create a safe, positive, and nurturing classroom environment Support children's social, emotional, and academic development Assist children with homework and school-related activities as appropriate Maintain consistent classroom routines and expectations Communicate professionally and positively with families and coworkers Follow all childcare center policies, health and safety procedures, and state licensing requirements Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom Required Qualifications At least 1 year of experience working in a certified/licensed childcare center Must be enrolled in the Oregon Central Background Registry (CBR) Experience working with school-age children preferred Must meet all applicable Oregon childcare employment and licensing requirements Reliable, responsible, and dependable Patient, positive, and enthusiastic when working with children Strong communication and teamwork skills Preferred Qualifications Degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or a related field Experience planning and implementing age-appropriate activities Experience working in an afterschool or school-age program What We Offer Starting wage of $24.00 per hour Full-time, Monday-Friday schedule Health insurance benefits — employer pays 50% of the premium IRA retirement plan with an employer match Supportive and professional childcare environment Opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children's lives Opportunities for professional growth and development If you are passionate about working with children and have at least one year of experience in a certified childcare center, we would love to hear from you!
