Flexible / By Appointment About the Position We are seeking a professional and passionate Drum Instructor to provide high-quality, one-on-one drum instruction to students of various ages and skill levels. The ideal candidate is an experienced musician and educator who has a strong understanding of drumming technique, music theory, and effective private music instruction. The instructor must be comfortable creating individualized lessons based on each student's skill level, goals, and learning style. Responsibilities Provide professional one-on-one drum lessons to students. Develop individualized lesson plans based on each student's abilities, goals, and musical interests. Teach proper drum technique, rhythm, timing, coordination, music reading, and musicality. Teach a variety of musical styles and adapt instruction to the needs of each student. Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback. Prepare students for performances, recitals, auditions, and other musical opportunities. Maintain a positive, encouraging, and professional learning environment. Communicate professionally with students and parents/guardians when appropriate. Maintain accurate attendance and student progress records. Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled lessons. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Music, Music Education, Percussion, or a related field. Demonstrated proficiency in drums/percussion. Previous experience teaching private, one-on-one music lessons is required. Strong understanding of music theory, rhythm, and percussion technique. Ability to create and follow individualized lesson plans. Ability to effectively teach students with different ages, skill levels, learning styles, and musical goals. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Professional, dependable, patient, and enthusiastic. Must be comfortable working independently with students in a private lesson setting. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching children and teenagers. Experience preparing students for recitals, performances, auditions, or examinations. Performance experience in multiple musical styles. Experience with music education programs, private studios, or music schools. What We Offer Flexible teaching schedule.
