Full Job Description Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Guitar Instructor to join our team, specializing in private classical guitar lessons. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in classical guitar technique, repertoire, and pedagogy, and will be passionate about guiding students of all ages and skill levels in a structured, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality private classical guitar instruction to students ranging from beginners to advanced levels. Create and implement customized lesson plans tailored to individual student goals and learning styles. Prepare students for performances, recitals, auditions, or examinations as needed. Track and communicate student progress regularly with students and/or parents. Maintain a consistent, punctual teaching schedule and manage lesson time effectively. Encourage musical growth and discipline in a positive, motivating studio environment. Participate in studio events, such as recitals and faculty meetings.
Qualifications:
Strong proficiency in classical guitar performance and technique. Bachelor's degree in Music (Guitar Performance, Music Education, or equivalent experience preferred). Previous experience teaching private or group guitar lessons. Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well with children, teens, and adult learners. Commitment to professionalism, reliability, and music education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience preparing students for graded exams (e.g., RCM, ABRSM) or competitions. Familiarity with additional styles (e.g., fingerstyle, jazz, folk) is a plus but not required. Ability to teach virtually as needed.
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate based on experience. Additional teaching opportunities and studio growth potential available.
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
