Category Schools - Adaptive Physical Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference as a Developmental Adaptive Physical Education Teacher in a dynamic school setting near Maple Grove, MN! This contract assignment runs from early September through late November and will provide the opportunity to support students at two middle school locations. Collaborate within a dedicated team to empower students of all abilities through innovative, inclusive physical education tailored to their individual needs.
Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota DAPE (Developmental Adaptive Physical Education) teaching license is required. Experience teaching adaptive or special education physical education in a school environment. Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with students, staff, and families. Ability to develop, modify, and implement individualized programs based on students' unique capabilities and needs.Responsibilities:
Deliver and adapt physical education instruction for students with a range of disabilities across two middle school campuses. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote inclusion, skill development, and fitness for all students. Assess students' abilities and progress, maintain accurate records, and write required reports. Work closely with classroom teachers, paraeducators, families, and related service providers to ensure a consistent and supportive learning environment. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals. Foster a positive, encouraging space that emphasizes each student's strengths and progress.Perks and Offerings:
