Qualifications:

Must hold New Jersey teacher certificates in P-3 and Students with Disabilities or Teacher of the Handicapped. Possess interpersonal skills with students, staff, parents & community. Experience teaching preschool students with special needs. Diagnose student strengths and weaknesses and match these skills with appropriate techniques and materials. Mastery of pedagogical and subject matter skills. Demonstrate expertise in designing and implementing standards-based instruction. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning. Ability to analyze and use data to drive instruction. Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative. Must be a critical thinker, problem solver, and respect others. Must be computer literate and able to use interactive computer instructional software. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff, students, parents, and the community. Knowledge of the NJSLS and NJSLA.
