About the Role The Lead Teacher / Assistant Site Director plays a key leadership role within the program, supporting the Site Director while remaining actively involved with children and staff. This position blends hands-on teaching with administrative and leadership responsibilities, making it ideal for an experienced educator ready to take the next step in their career. You'll help guide daily operations, support and mentor teaching staff, and ensure the program runs smoothly—all while creating engaging experiences for children.

What You'll Do:

Serve as a lead educator while supporting the Site Director with day-to-day operations Model best practices in classroom management, curriculum implementation, and child engagement Support and mentor teachers and teacher assistants to help them grow professionally Assist with maintaining licensing, safety, and quality standards Build positive, professional relationships with children, families, school staff, and district partners Help with enrollment support, family communication, and administrative tasks as needed Step in as acting leader when the Site Director is unavailable

Qualifications Required Skills and Experience:

At least 1 year of experience working in a licensed child care or school-age program (lead experience preferred) Experience supporting or mentoring other educators Passion for working with children and creating meaningful learning experiences Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment Must meet Oregon state licensing requirements for the role, including active CBR number Ability to speak, read, and write

English Preferred Skills and Experience:

First Aid and CPR certification Food Handler Certification Child Development Associate (CDA) Familiarity with licensing requirements and program quality standards Strong problem-solving skills and confidence in decision-making Experience supporting staff onboarding, training, or coaching Interest in growing into a future Site Director role

Physical Requirements:
