- 1 •Position Overview•We are seeking a dedicated •Special Education Teacher•to join a year-round Behavioral Health Residential Treatment Program serving children and adolescents.
In this unique educational setting, students reside on campus and receive individualized educational support in self-contained classrooms designed to meet their academic, behavioral, and emotional needs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral challenges while working closely with a multidisciplinary team to create a positive and structured learning environment.
- Key Responsibilities
- + Provide specialized instruction to students receiving special education services.
+ Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
+ Create a structured and supportive classroom environment.
+ Collaborate with direct care professionals, administrators, and support staff.
+ Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs.
+ Maintain accurate student records and progress documentation.
+ Participate in team meetings and educational planning sessions.
+ Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local special education requirements.
- Assignment Details
- + Self-contained classroom setting + One Direct Care Professional (Paraprofessional) assigned to each classroom + Student age groups approximately 10-15 years old + Behavioral Health Residential Treatment environment + Year-round assignment + In-person interview required + 52-week contract + Facility may cancel with a two-week notice
- Qualifications
- + Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred + Valid state teaching certification as required by state regulations + Special Education certification preferred + Minimum one year of teaching experience preferred + Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement preferred + Current CPR certification if applicable + Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements + Must be at least 18 years of age + Strong classroom management and collaboration skills •Why Apply?
